Mikhail Slipenchuk, General Director of IFC METROPOL and Bair Tsyrenov, Deputy General Director of MBC Corporation has won Philanthropist 2009 awards in Buryatia
The Buryat Republic’s “Philanthropist 2009” awards were
presented at the Presidential Charity Ball on April 29, 2010 at the
Nicholas Bestuzhev Russian Drama Theater in Ulan-Ude. The
initiators and organizers of the competition are: the
Administration of the Russian President and Government of Buryatia,
the Baikal Local Community Fund, the Union of Industrialists and
Entrepreneurs and the Chamber of Commerce of Buryatia.
Mikhail Slipenchuk, General Director of IFC METROPOL won first
place in the “The Philanthropist of the Year” category among
international and Russian corporations and foundations. Bair
Tsyrenov, Deputy General Director of MBC Corporation, won the Best
Philanthropist of the Year award among individuals.
The awards are an annual event in the Republic of Buryatia. Last
year, MBC Corporation was also among the companies who won
certificates for their contribution to charitable causes in
Buryatia.
METROPOL Group’s charitable activities are aimed at supporting
social, educational and cultural projects, helping charities,
building and restoring churches, and developing science and sports
in the regions where the group works.
In 2009, METROPOL Group and MBC Corporation took part in such
charitable projects as the ecological project “The Mir Submersion
Vehicles in Lake Baikal,” a scholarship program for students from
Buryatia, cultural activities of the Buryat society Uryaal, support
of the Namgar musical group and the Shatar Chess Club. The group
also gave donations to the Zandan Zhuu Buddhist Temple, the
Vladimir Mother of God Parish of the Chita and Trans-Baikal Diocese
of the Russian Orthodox Church, veterans, children and many
others.
