Mikhail Slipenchuk, the Chairman of Board of Trustees of the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal, took part in the extraordinary congress of The Russian Geographical Society
The extraordinary congress of The Russian Geographical Society
was held in The Russian Academy of Sciences on November, 18, 2009.
The Prime-minister of The Russian Federation Vladimir Putin,
minister of emergency situations of The Russian Federation Sergey
Shoigu, director of Institute of Geography of The Russian Academy
of Sciences, academician of RAN Vladimir Kotlyakov, Dean of
Geographical Faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University,
academician Nikolay Kasimov gave the speeches to the delegates.
The new management of The Russian Geographical Society was
elected on the results of the congress. Sergey Shoigu became the
President of The Russian Geographical Society, and Vladimir Putin
took the position of the Chairman of Board of Trustees of The
Russian Geographical Society.
