2006

• December:METROPOL Asset Management won the bid for sale of part of assets of OAO Moskvich.
  The seminar of OAO Gazprom took place in Tokyo. The seminar was held by METROPOL Group in cooperation with Nikko Citigroup – a subsidiary of one of the largest Japanese financial conglomerates Nikko Group and Citigroup.
  The exhibition “Pavel Filonov. Eyewitness of Invisible” was opened in the Museum of Private Collections of the Pushkin Fine Arts Museum. It was sponsored by METROPOL Group as a general sponsor.
• November: IFC METROPOL became a prize-winner of the National Business Award “Company of the Year” in the nomination “The Most Dynamically Developing Company”.
  An official delegation of METROPOL Group headed by M.V. Slipenchuk took part in the International Business Conference “Russia and China: what to expect, what to apprehend, how to earn” and the 3rd Russian-Chinese Investment Forum organized by the Ministry for Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation which took place in China.
  METROPOL Group and the Swedish company Lundin Mining completed establishing a joint venture for development of the Ozernoye lead-zinc deposit.
  The Japanese foundation of private investment into instruments of the Russian stock market only – the Russian Ruble Foundation was established as a result of implementation of the joint project of the Japanese company United World Securities and METROPOL Group.
  METROPOL (UK) Ltd. received a permission of the Financial Services Authority of Great Britain for dealer operations at investing.
• October: METROPOL Group took part in the 2nd Mining & Exploration Business Forum MINEX’06 which took place in Moscow.
  Metropol (UK) Limited completed introduction of shares of Teleset Networks to the AIM of the London Stock Exchange.
  The delegation of METROPOL Group headed by M.V. Slipenchuk took part in the 9th International Investment Forum Moscow-Invest – 2006 which took place in Munich.
• September: The management of IFC METROPOL took part in the All-Russia Business Forum “National Priorities and Social Projects. Partnership of the State and Business”.
  IFC METROPOL signed the final agreement with the Swedish company Lundin Mining on establishing of a joint venture in which 51% of shares would be owned by IFC METROPOL and 49% of shares would be owned by Lundin Mining. The joint venture was being established for development of the Ozernoye lead-zinc deposit in the Republic of Buryatia.
• August: Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexiy II decorated Director General of IFC METROPOL M.V. Slipenchuk with the Order of Sergey Radonezhsky of the third grade.
  Within the framework of the program High Start organized by METROPOL and the Russian Aeronautical Society with participation of the International Polar Foundation the world record flight by an airship to the highest-ever altitude. Aeronaut Stanislav Fyodorov in Polar Goose airship exceeded 8 kilometers.
• July: East Siberian Metals Corporation announced the beginning of construction of an ore-dressing plant at the Ozernoye lead-zinc deposit in Buryatia.
  On July 30 the memorial plaque for cruiser Varyag was opened in Lendlefoot (Scotland). METROPOL Group was an organizer and general sponsor of this activity.
• June: Chairman of the Board of KB OBIBANK A.V. Kichayev and General Director of METROPOL Asset Management M.Ya. Sheshelovsky took part in the RBC International Business Conference “G8: Leadership of Russia – New Business Opportunities” which took place in Stockholm within the framework of the Year of Russia in Sweden.
  The delegation of METROPOL Group headed by First Deputy Chairman of General Director of IFC METROPOL took part in the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg.
  General Director of IFC METROPOL M.V. Slipenchuk delivered a report at the Forum of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
  According to Forbes IFC METROPOL was in the 13th position in the list of the most successful IPO organizing companies.
  METROPOL Group signed a preliminary agreement with Swedish Lundin Mining Corporation about establishing a joint venture for development of the Ozernoye lead-zinc deposit in Buryatia.

• May: The successful conference “Russia in the 21st Century: New Investment Opportunities” organized by IFC METROPOL with participation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the Russian-Japanese Business Council took place in Tokyo.
  The Russian national parachute team sponsored IFC METROPOL convincingly won the regional tournament in Malaysia.
• April: General Director of IFC METROPOL M.V. Slipenchuk was granted the Order of Glory of the Nation for active participation in charitable projects.
  NAUFOR rating agency confirmed the individual reliability rating of IFC METROPOL. The value of the rating is “АА+ ” – category “very high reliability, first level”. The company also received the positive forecast.
  IFC METROPOL became a prize-winner of the Financial Elite of Russia – 2006 award in the nomination “Social Responsibility”.
• March: According to the rating of Finance magazine Denis Nushtayev, analyst of IFC METROPOL joined the ten of best financial analysts in the category “Metallurgy and Mechanical Engineering”.
  General Director of IFC METROPOL Mikhail Slipenchuk and Deputy General Director of East Siberian Metals Corporation Oleg Velikoredchanin took part in the work of the Russian-Chinese Economic Forum which took place in Beijing and was dedicated Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China.
• February: IFC METROPOL took the first position in five NSMA rankings under the results of 2005.
  Unit Funds managed by METROPOL Asset Management remained the most profitable ones.
• January: General Director of IFC METROPOL M.V. Slipenchuk received the official Certificate of Authorized Representative of the Moscow Lawyers Club in the Security Market of the Russian Federation.
  Under the results of 2005 Unit Funds of METROPOL Asset Management were amongst leasers: in the final NML rating “The Most Profitable Unit Funds in 2005” Metropol Zolotoye Runo Equity Fund was on the 14th position amongst Open Equity Funds and Metropol Athena Mixed Investment Fund was on the 7th position amongst Open Mixed Investment Funds.
